Meet the Pastor’s Wife
My name is Janice Hildreth.  I’ve been married to my minister-husband for 37 years and we’ve been pastors for 31 of them.  We have served in three churches — two in Colorado, and our current one in Idaho.
We have three adult children — preacher’s kids who don’t seem to have minded being raised in a parsonage.  The eldest, Jana, is married to a police officer and they live in Washington.  The middle, David, lives in Tempe, Arizona and is a film editor, and the youngest, Jenn, just married this year and she and her husband live here in Boise. All three of our children are involved in their local churches which we consider a blessing for them and their church. Mike and I are empty-nesters, except for a cat named Mouse, and are having a lot of fun being just a couple again.   We are Idahoans by birth, but until we returned 14 years ago, we’d been gone most of our adult lives.   It was good to come home.
Why I began my web:
When I searched for resources specifically for pastors’ wives and did not find any, I decided to create something that would be helpful to myself.  The result was The Pastor’s Wife newsletter, a 6-page monthly publication.  In 1998, because of publishing costs, it became a webzine.  In the past few years, because of time constraints due to writing, family, church, and work, it has become a quarterly newsletter.
